I think the only reason this didn't happen to me was that my first centerfire rifle was a Savage 116 in .300 Winchester Magnum, and I was so stoked to receive it that I looked up long-range .300 Win Mag videos on YouTube and the first thing that came up was some kid getting hit in the face with his Savage 116 in .300 WM and he was bleeding EVERYWHERE. I mean DAMN there was a lot of blood, and all the kid could do was laugh like an idiot. Sounded drunk even.

Ever since I saw that vid I've been REALLY careful about avoiding Magnum Eyebrow.

Yeah I've had that happen to me too, fortunately I have a decent size shoulder and the scope just tap me on the eyebrow... Hopefully you have learned from your rifle bite!

Hey it's been 2 days & no reply from drgonzo. Somebody go make sure he didn't have a concussion...
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

It only happened because you are holding the rifle on the wrong side of your body!

I kid..............my bro is a lefty as well.
Hasn't happened to me (yet), but I have been a witness a time or three.

Thanks for saying that. I have to admit I was a little hesitant about posting this because I was afraid some people might harass me or call me stupid for getting smacked by my rifle. But to my pleasant suprise everyone has been mature about it! So kudos to all you for not trying to make me feel dumber than I already did.

Btw, the funny thing about it was I had fired it multiple times before this time. I wanted to get a video of me shooting it so I could show my wife later. and the one time I decide to take the video I get backfire right in the face. It hit so hard that it knocked the scope of the back mount and I couldn't shoot it anymore. Still have to finish sighting the damn thing in!

I laugh ever time I see a video of that. Sorry. Never happened to me thanks to my dad teaching me how to shoot when I was 10. Way to pop your cherry, and thanks for manning up and posting it.

Did it when I was 13 and was shooting my grandfathers .270 for the first time. The scope did not have the rubber ring around the the eye piece like modern scopes do. Still have a small scar by my eyebrow at the bridge of my nose. Have never done it since.
