Q on CCW

Forwarding a question from my mother, who received her CA CCW permit this afternoon.

The paper seems rather flimsy, and well, ordinary. Can she make a photocopy of it and carry that, in case her purse gets stolen? And/or laminated or etc? It just seems so...delicate.

She should check with the issuing authority about whether or not they'd be OK with the laminated license. Or she could just go get a plastic ID holder and put it in there... carefully folded, of course. Same with the photocopy. Check with the issuing authority.

Yes, it can be laminated...some agencies even give it to you that way. The way it's usually done is to fold it once and laminate it. The exception to folding it would be if the issuing agency put something on the back, usually restrictions.

If she is not going to add any other guns to her permit she can fold it in half (back to back) and laminate it.

I might get her to post but its not likely. She just got a new job and its taking a lot of her time.
