    Is an operating spring a buffer spring?

    I think it is but before I place my order I want to make sure. This is for an ar-10.

    Yes. For the AR10, it is also called the action spring.

      Well I'm glad somebody came up w/ an answer. I don't own an AR, but I saw all the views & no answers till now. I learned something today. This has been a "teaching moment" .

      Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
