Maybe its just the fact that I live in California and I'm not familiar with the "newest" in firearm technology, but theres something wrong...and I just can't seem to put my finger on it...

So what would "improper" loading of a magazine do such as in this case? Mangled magazine catch/receiver? would the top or interior of the mag itself be FUBAR?

*edit* maybe not, lol I tried it before and it won't work, so it must be photo shop, or it really is a FIXED magazine AR-15 lol

Ya, I don't think the department would let them tape mags. She would have to be going on a lot of adrenaline to jam that thing in there like that. It's just barely hanging on.
On another note, why do those assaultweb guys hate cops so much? Are most of their members like that? I have to say, cops do the best they can with the training they get. They usually don't have time to do advanced stuff. I'm not a cop, but you have to respect them. 99% of them are good people. (I'll step off the soapbox now).

A couple of things: I am sure that is two mags attached jungle style - except for the scope with A2 front sight (unless that's some weird triangular image on the door behind her) the rifle is set up well, so likely the mags are intentional.

Second, give her credit for her decisive trigger finger position. Her position under pressure makes me doubt she would make a mistake with inserting the mag backwards (Deduct one point for that floating elbow).

Third, she's a brawny woman from Texas - do you really think she would put the mag in backwards? She has probably been shooting ARs with her Dad and brothers on the weekend since age 5.

If you look hard enough you can actually see the shadow of the two mags being put together like how Jumbopanda outlines it.
