    consignment - GB

Hey guys, I see this gun on gunbroker, instead of going through the GB and waiting since it's on auction. Could I buy the gun in the store? I know, it's similar to PPT but instead its the actual store. It's off roster too. Thanks.

If said CA FLL store is in CA and has it on consignment. Otherwise, you’re SOL.

Yes it is in CA, just no shipping. I don't want to wait for the auction cause anybody could just buy it in the store and I wouldn't know if its sold. Not sure how it works tho.

It has to ppt ftf in Ca. Cannot buy it and have it shipped to your ffl.

This is on their listing "It's not on the California Handgun Roster so it cannot be shipped to a California FFL for civilian sale. It can be sold as a private party transfer with a background check and waiting period in our store.

You would have to go to their store, purchase it, transfer it, and return 10 days later to pick it up. If you're not near them I'd call them first to be sure they still have it. I'd also try to make the purchase or put a deposit on it over the phone so it doesnt get sold before you get there.

My first gun broker deal was done outside GB, I didn't even think anything of it until after the deal was done. He had emailed me with a final quote without tax or something and I agreed. Come to think of it, boy was I lucky.

I know some places ONLY sell on GB, especially for consignment stuff. It's part of their promise to get the best possible price for the customer. This may or may not apply to your specific situation, but a phone call would tell you yay or nay.

Purchase online through gunbroker you'll have to pay taxes on it. Purchase it in the store as ppt you should be able to avoid the tax.

You can not purchase off-roster handguns from an FFL's inventory because they are not on the roster.
Some FFL's will have guns on consignment that are owned by a private citizen which can be transferred from the owner to you through the FFL that is holding them.
You have to win the auction before you do the PPT at their store if they do not offer a buy-it-now price.
If they have a buy-it-now option, then exercise that option and then coordinate when you can come into the store to do the PPT.

Post a link to the auction.
