    PayPal Alternative?

Is there a good alternative to PayPal yet that doesn't close your account and steal your money if you buy or sell a gun part or a knife? I remember ages ago somebody here tried to start GunPal but it ended in fraud and failure?

I've heard of another one called GunTab. Is it legit or a con?

What do people use these days for private party transaction over the internet? Does everybody just take their chances with PP FF or one of the Gen-Z cash share apps? Problem with these is like with PP, you are violating their TOS and have no consumer protections.

USPS Money Order (only) if they don't have their own means to take a credit card payment.

Would never use Zelle or anything like it. Ever.

I’ve used Bitrail for Gunbroker transactions before.

Nobody else has it though, so it’s kinda pointless

Venmo is ok in terms of protection. Same level as PayPal as it's own by PayPal.

CashApp is what the kids use. Hoodlums love it as well.

As a buyer in a p2p transaction, you should do your research on the seller.

Low or no feedback or new account are red flags. Even reputable accounts can be hacked and used for fraud.

As a general rule, Venmo and PayPal does offer protection even for firearm parts. Use a credit card to fund the payment will give you another layer of protection. I would not buy from an unknown source for a large purchase. For those, best to do COD or escrow. Lastly, marketplace such as eBay is also a good idea as eBay monitors fraud pretty well.

There is buyer's protection on Venmo just like Paypal.

It is simple, the chances of being scammed by someone that you are doing business with are low ONLY if you do your research before hand and make sure they have PLENTY of positive Itrader ratings and overall give you a good vibe. This has worked for me and I have zelled a few people who I have done transactions with and so far so good .

For Paypal you must use the double sign in method, IMO.

Sign in with your PW then have a text sent to your cellphone for confirmation.

And yes, of course, send funds only to an authorized entity, or watch your money go bye bye.

I've used Zelle, but only for sales, and it is super convenient and reliable! But like I said only for sales or to receive $$$ as payment for jobs worked, etc. If you use it for buying, and the vendor is not honorable, your SOL...

I?ve used wire transfers for known entities. The receiver has to trust you enough to provide some pretty personal information. You can also do a SWIFT recall if things go bad.

I just used Zelle to pay a painter. The transfer was almost instantaneous even though I?m 9 time zones away. Electrons are fast.

Use TOTP, not SMS with Paypal. Use TOTP whenever it is an option over SMS with any service that offers it.

SMS is not a secure method for MFA code delivery.
