Otherwise general opinions or experiences?

In my situation I generally prefer the weak hand grabbing the front of the trigger guard but I have a light/laser mounted that precludes that method.

A low profile slide stop with thumb rest looks to be ideal for my situation to provide additional recoil control.

Search for "gas pedal". They won't always be a slide stop, but the function is the same.
