AFS Request for Firearms Record (BOF 053)

Anyone happen to submit a BOF 053 - Request for Firearms records in the past 6-12 months? Trying to gauge what response times have been like recently.

Our efficient tax dollars, hard at work.

Seems about right though. I did an intra-familia transfer for a gun I gave to my daughter. It took just over 8 months for her to get a letter stating the gun was now officially in her name. I didn’t know that data-entry was such a laborious and time consuming job.

unbelievable. And with the BOF 053 you need to get it stamped by a notary and it has to be submitted via snail mail. Don't understand why things are this bad. They already have CFARS, it should be feasible to verify identity once and then have access to this information via the CFARS portal whenever needed.

That is not a feature or a benefit that is required by law.
