Selling consignment at Turners

I brought a gun into turners to be sold on consignment.

I have a question for anyone who has already done the same.

Does the store call you in to give you the payment or does the store just mail you the check ?

I realize that it takes a long time but I want to know what the process is. I don?t care if it takes a long time.

Don't know about Turners, but I sold a revolver thru an auction house (Lock Stock and Barrel). When the auction ended I recieved the check in the mail about 2 weeks later.

The person told me they would call but did not mention how settlement is carried out.

The item was a .22 rifle and it showed up on the website about a week later and disappeared from the website that weekend. It has been about two months since I signed it over to them.

The store will call you and cut you a check. Contact the store for payment. I consigned a shotgun at the Orange store a few years ago and the Mgr handed me a check after the firearm was delivered.

As others have said, unless it's a high value firearm (collectable), it's better to sell it here. Even off roster modern firearms it's better to sell here.

Talk to a manager if the salesperson cannot confirm status.

Did one in 2021 local store, even for consignment it took more than 10 days to get it into their system first. They called me when it sold and cut me a check. It was a choice whether mail or pickup.

Doesn't Turners take around 25-30% commission?

By the time Turner takes their consignment fee, and you have to deal with all their bull****, you could sell it here at a reduced price and probably be done with it in 48 hours and get the same amount of money if not more

Cannot be sold for first 30 days due to pawnbroker laws to check if stolen. So the clock starts running after that.

For consignments I strongly recommend lock stock and barrels. I used them during the pandemic for stuff that wouldn?t sell well on cg (obscure collectible type stuff and other random not appealing to this crowd type guns) and they got me almost double what I would have been willing to take. In general I mostly sell on cg, but for certain things or if you just don?t want the hassle they are a great way to go.
