Yep I'm planning a range trip soon too.
Went out to Los Altos Rod & Gun back in March and it was still packs of snow and fog and rain. Was drenched but still had some fun doing skeet and pistol.

What was so bad about the weather that you couldn't shoot all of this time? Yes we've had some rain, but it's not like we've had blistering heat. I would much rather go out shooting on a cool day then get baked in the 103? heat over in piru

Yep. Summer is when I go shoot less. It ain't worth catching heat stroke for. I pretty much don't shoot between the months of may to sept.

trying to avoid mud. i'd like to go to our favorite outdoor range when the ground is dry.

Way too much snow on the ground?then there will be mud?then we can shoot. I am guessing mid May.

Been shooting every months or two weeks. I bought boots a few years ago for the mud so no excuses for me.

I try to shoot every Friday early in the morning, usually around 0830. Only had a few days so far this year that got aced out by the weather. Some days it was bloody cold, though.

My biggest deterrent is wind, I’ll shoot in cold even rain as long as it’s not a monsoon downpour. When it’s really hot in the summer I’m at the range by 0630 and done by 0900. That also works for avoiding the monsoons, they almost always arrive in the late afternoon. But if strong wind is in the forecast, I’ll stay home.

So true, I dislike the wind so much. Golfing, fishing and shooting just isn't fun when the wind blows

I have a new to me gun to shoot. This one I managed to find a factory magazine for it, that needs to be tested.
A new front sight on my Python to test out.

Was out to Hodge yesterday.

Saw very little road damage. Beautiful day/ GOOD shootin !
