I recently bought a lwrc. It has that device where you push a button to separate the upper and lower receiver and the magazine will drop. What?s that device called? I?d like to swap it out with a grip fin. What do I need?

What?s this AR part called

Remove it and replace it with a standard rear takedown pin. Will need to remove the stock/buffer tube to do that. If your going featureless you'll also need to remove an flash hiders and go with a fixed stock.
Or are you talking about a plunger thats mounted in the frame? That simply needs to be removed.Comment

It's a cock-blocker.

That rear putth button takedown has nothing to do with locking the mag, it just makes the opening of the upper from the lower easier and faster. If you lift the upper up, look above the mag release, there is a pin that gets pushed down when the upper is closed, that block the mag release. You need to remove that by the tiny allen head screw near the mag release.Comment

That is a Juggernaught Hellfire takedown pin.
You can replace it with a standard takedown pin and then remove all the features from your rifle to make it featurless.
You will likely need to remove the magazine catch blocker as well and then install a proper bolt catch, spring and detent.Randall Rausch

Double check your barrel length. I believe that model LWRC has a 14.7? barrel with a pinned flash hider to get to 16?. To go featureless you will have to unpin the flash hider and them pin a muzzle brake to BATFE specifications. There is a member here that does that type of work. I think he specializes in AR15 barrels.Thermidorian Reaction . .
