    Sierra Bullets

What is the difference between Sierra's Game King bullet and there Pro Hunter bullet?

Which bullet would be more suitable, accuracy wise, for an obsolete M1 Garand or an ancient 03 Springfield?

The obvious difference is that the GKs are BoatTails. PHs are flat base.

From my experience. Both perform about the same on game. The BTs will have higher BC for longer work. But in either an M1 or an 03. You'll never notice.

I'd say that both Sierra bullets would be rock solid in either of your rifles.

Flat base bullets are what the Garand uses. M-2 rounds.

SGK is a boattail, PH are flat base. Flat base bullets tend to hold their jacket better and retain more mass. Boattail bullets tend to slip their jacket more readily.

I guess there's also an idea that it's easier to make more.oerfect flat base bullets than Boattail bullets so flat base tend to shoot better at shorter distances. Or something like that.

In addendum to my post #6, for most hunting applications inside of 300 or so yards, the BC difference between a flat tail and a boat tail bullet doesn't translate to squat; and you really don't see much improvement from a boat tail until you start shooting longer distances.
