My First Build, Did I Miss Anything?

I'm brand new to rifles and decided to build my first one versus buying a complete model. While extremely excited for the opportunity, I realize I know very little in general and hope that I didn't jump the gun and bought incompatible parts. I'm hoping to make this build a learning opportunity. I also realize how much additional tools that I didn't have...I'm new to the forums also and see that various subsections require permissions, so I hope I'm posting at the right location!

    Upper (https://bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-bfh-...-15-handguard/)
BCM BFH 16" Mid Length (ELW) w/ MCMR-15 Handguard
    BCM Ambi Charging Handle
    BCM Bolt Carrier Group
    BCM M-Lok Vertical Grip

    Lower
Sparrow Dynamics Carbine Buffer Tube Kit Plus
Sparrow Dynamics Lowers Part Kit Plus (I assumed this is a complete lowers kit)
    Sparrow Dynamics AR-15 Grip
    Aero Precision M4E1 Stripped Lower
BCM Stock Mod 0 SOPMOD (I think I may need to "mod" this to make it fixed?)

One mistake I think I did was ordering a Carbine Buffer Tube when I should've gone with a regular buffer tube because my upper is a 16" mid length? To be frank, I have no idea if my BCM 16" upper is a carbine gas or mid-length, the description on the BCM upper says both?

Thank you and appreciate any feedback!

Do you have a 2 point sling?

No sling yet, I think my BCM complete upper does include a sling mount, so I think I'm halfway there?

I just pieced together this build after a few hours of reading online threads, so I'm primarily concerned on feedback if I purchased compatible materials (& all of the materials) that won't lead me to putting together a non-functioning equipment!

The upper that you listed is a mid-length gas system. The buffer tube choice between Carbine length and Rifle length comes down to personal preference. A Carbine length buffer tube allows for adjustable stocks. A rifle length uses a fixed A1 or A2 stock. It really has little to do with the gas system length. It is buffer weight that makes a difference in tuning the performance of the gas system.

AR15 is a “mil-spec” rifle. The lowers are all the same so all the parts will fit. The upper is legos for adults. Have fun building and learning. Do you have an armors wrench, a set of punches, a towel and strong thumbs? DON’T let it touch the carpet.

Your combination of upper and buffer tube is fine .... Looks like a complete list .... an hour with a small punch set and a few YT videos and you can assemble all the pieces.
Being a flat top upper without a front sight post, what are you going to use for sights / Optics?

What you are missing, assuming you are going featureless via Sparrow Dynamics grip, is to change the Flash Hider to a Muzzle Brake/Compensator.

                  What he said.

And yes, your choice in stock needs to modified so that it is considered a fixed stock.

Order extra takedown detent pins. Or get the Real Avid tool.

I know these are very stupid questions I'm asking, but I can purchase these separate small parts regardless of where it comes from right? My understanding is extras in the event they fall into the abyss as I assemble it. Can I just purchase any brand?

                            Thank you for the advice!

As an alternative to an armor's wrench which seems to be $70+.I have a 1/2" torque wrench and I purchased the BCM Barrel Nut extension which I think the description says would also work for the castle nut? (https://bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-kmr-...-and-m4-stock/)

I'm glad you mentioned the carpet situation... I was envisioning setting it up on the floor of my all-carpet home in hopes that there's a less likely chance of the tiny pins and springs being easier to find as I assemble the lowers.

Thank you for the confirmation! I got so excited looking at parts (most of the build pieces were all on sale) and assumed everything will work regardless of brand, had a little buyers remorse afterwards. I'm glad to hear that it should all come together nicely.
