    Closed marketplace ads

Why do all the marketplace ads show they are closed after 30 days?

So people don't bump old abandoned ads.

After 3 days of inactivity sometimes the mods. close them down.

I have seen "Is this still for sale?" a couple years later.

f you are going to put something up for sale/trade eventually, bump your ad every day or two to keep it active. (One bump per day max.)

I get ads closed somewhat often that are active and that I'm still trying to sell, and which also aren't breaking any marketplace rules. It's annoying, but...whatever. I don't bump every single day because I'm not on here looking at it every day.

One of mine got closed. I was surprised although on my last bump I did say it was last call. I could have used it for another listing and had planned to but couldn’t after it was closed. So then I had to start a new one. I was thinking it had something to do with the server switchover because that’s about the time it happened. There are some pretty recent ones that were closed that hadn’t been bumped in a bit. The other thing I thought is maybe the mods are planning an inactivity limit? It’s probably a good idea.

Currently, the average is 14 days (2 weeks) of no activity before it is closed.

I had a very long running and pretty successful ad closed right after the new server kicked in... I asked the mods to reopen it as I still have many items for sale, but have seen nothing...

I always thought that the old ads should have the option to delete/drop off anyways

Same here, I messaged to see why my post was closed and got crickets.

I hate having my older ads still showing as even the ads where I had the price listed as sold it never fails that every once in a while someone newbie will contact me about a gun I sold 2 years ago asking for more information or pictures.

I guess they want to encourage 974 bumps for one item.

I go back and edit my sale add after selling. Very easy and doesn't put my responsibility on someone else.
