Blue Wonder....Have you tried it?

I was looking at the Blue Wonder website and it looks like another TV gimmick. Has anyone tried this stuff? Does it really work, and was it hard to do?

I've never used Blue Wonder, but I've heard very good things about their products.

Didn't notice the XD in your avatar until after I posted the link. Then I remembered that there's a guy named "tundraman" over at XD Talk. Chances are you were already aware of the BW sub-forum. I feel kind of dumb. Heh.

No worries. To be honest I had never even noticed the sub-forum. I spend most of my time on calguns. The link did help BTW. It looks like a lot of people have had great luck with this stuff.

I've used Blue Wonder after fitting a mag well to my 1911. It was quite simple to use. At the time, I didn't have a torch to use to heat up the metal, so I used a hair dryer instead. It worked quite well. Not as gimmicky as the "As seen on TV" products.

I use blue wonder cleaner. I really like it. Its smell is not bad.
Its cleaning power is excellent. I recommend it.I have not used
the lubricant or protectant.
IIRC BPnovum is the blue wonder sponsor over at xdtalk.

I have used their cold blue wuite a bit and a tube of their cleaner.
The cold blue is good. You can get brown, blue, or black. For small touchups it is unbeatable, but it took a lot of work to get a resonably even finish on a complete Makarov I had to sand down and polish before rebluing. That took several: cold blue, scotchbrite buff, clean, reblue, repeat.

The .38 revolver. Do you think it is a bad idea? I have been debating because it is an older gun and I like the worn look on it.

Please don't reblue either of those old colts . they are worth more as they are than if you try to make them "pretty"

I was afraid you were going to say that. I do not plan on getting rid of either of the guns so I am not to worried about their value. I am worried about erasing any old character and history of the .38 though. The .32 is chrome and in pristine shape so I do not foresee doing anything with that one.

I am sure I will end up leaving it the way it is. Thanks for talking me out of it
