Don’t I know it. I’ll be 48 next month and at distance my eyes are starting to fail me. I got a Rock River match A2 I’m probably gonna put a TA02 on the carry handle to compensate for my shortcomings.

I wanted one for quite some time. Looked for cardinal forge ones but never found one.

I had no idea until today that Harrington & Richardson was being used by Palmetto State Armory to market the "vintage" AR parts - brilliant! I thought it was a little odd when they bought the rights from Remington; I didn't really expect them to bring back the H&R Pardner, but this is a pretty cool use of the name.

I have long wanted a slick-side CAR setup (GAU setup?), so now may be the time.

Well I got two CF handles thanks to this thread. Put one on an old LE6920 and bore sighted it. Cool.

I put the other one on a Tavor TS12. Don?t laugh, it needed that carry handle because it?s a bit unwieldy. Doesn?t look terrible either, though you purists will barf. I also have a Russian AK sling on it.

I have an A1 Rifle. FN Upper on a Brownell's A1 lower with all surplused furniture. It is nostalgia for me as I qualled with the A1 in boot.

I have one because my friend called me up and said: Hey Dewey, I am selling my AR for $ 300 you interested ? Oh come on John, I don't have the money. I called him back in 30 minutes and said I WILL get the money ! Hold on. My first grandson fronted the $$ to me and I got the AR and its just as original as they came years ago with the exception of a match stainless bbl. I haven't changed it at all. Even with my 79 years old peepers.

I do not know if it?s a specific upper from Colt during a certain time period or if it?s really all of the fix handle uppers from other companies such as Bushmaster/Olympic/DPMS/etc..

Is it due to the demand of people doing retro builds ?
Are all the original foundries that forged A1/A2type uppers not making them anymore and the supplies are all dried up ?

Interested to hear opinions or facts on the topic.
I have a carry handle / A2 iron sights on my AR's because that is how I was initially trained on the AR platform.

I?ve had my A2 clone (not an A4) for 6+years. Always wanted one because I like service rifles.

                    They?re popular now? I haven?t noticed.

I thought you guys learned how to shoot them out to 500 meters?

We did but you can’t do it without making a wind call and doping your sights. With a 36 yard zero you just aim and shoot (as long as it’s not TOO windy) and out to 300 meters, you WILL hit the target without any holds.

Neither did I. They are pretty much all old out. Maybe an A-1 build with a three prong will be my celebration for the AWB getting overturned.

Though impractical logistically, if there ever was such a thing as an “adjustable” hand guard for the AR15 I’d say the A1 hand guard is it. You can slide to and fro and find a pretty comfy place for your support hand.

I’m gonna be abandoning a BRN16A1 M16a1 lower that was built for an XM or 723 clone if anyone is interested. Will be posting it up soon.
