From the CRPA Foundation yesterday:
"BREAKING: Today we secured a GAME-CHANGING WIN in The CRPA Foundation?s Boland v. Boland lawsuit to dismantle Newsom?s Handgun Roster!!
The court just granted our Motion for a Preliminary Injunction, concluding that the loaded chamber indicator, magazine disconnect, and microstamping requirements are unconstitutional.
The state will appeal, so the fight isn?t over -- but we think we?re heading for another major 2A victory for California gun owners...
For decades this ?roster? law has deprived law-abiding citizens of the right to choose a handgun appropriate for their individual needs. The loaded chamber indicator, magazine disconnect, and microstamping requirements were impossible to satisfy, so the number of different models of approved handguns available to buy dropped from thousands to barely 200 older models.
If we can hold on to this great Second Amendment win, people will be able to choose from among thousands of the latest, greatest, and safest handguns made today.
The state will fight back using taxpayer dollars against our VICTORY with everything they have. This is scorched earth no-holds-barred litigation. It won't be easy."Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association

Seriously? This just indicates you're not paying attention to the most important forums on Calguns, and haven't done so, since at least August 2022.
No offense, but there are way too many here, expressing this sentiment, which is really part of the problem.
I suspect there may even be the frequent, hourly Calgunnets that 'live' in the off-topic forum that have yet to hear of the decision.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

In this case, see the thread https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1810709Headlines all over the Internet about CA's 2A laws being struck down but can't find any post, even the old ones, talking about it. Yes, an appeal will happen within the next two weeks, but the newsies are really eating it up around here. Still a long way to go.
“The government cannot credibly argue that handguns without CLI, MDM, and microstamping features pose unacceptable public safety risks when virtually all of the handguns available on the Roster and sold in California today lack those features.” That’s the eminently reasonable conclusion of US District Judge Cormac J. Carney in his ruling today in Boland v. ... Read more

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment
