Cleaning tank?

I was talking to a guy at the range today that mentioned he used a tank of some sort to clean his pistols. He sais it used bubbles to clean and did an excellent job without harming the finish or plastics. Anyone know anything about these? What are they called, where to get one, how well they work, etc? I tried to search but not knowing what its called made it tough.

Ultrasonic cleaning tanks. Most commonly used for cleaning jewelry I think. Brownell's has a kit in the 1911 catalog. I'm sure you can google it as well.

Do a search here on Calguns for ultrasonic cleaners. We have covered this before, and others have chimed in with their inputs.

You also might try ebay. Ultrasonic cleaners are used for many more chores than cleaning guns and there are a lot of equipment liquidators on ebay these days.

Yeah - you can buy used dental ones, etc. Those go for a lot less than brand new cleaners.

Navy used to use them to clean all the old oil and gunk out of teletypes. Worked pretty well twenty years ago, should work just as well today.
