How to warranty/ship a gun?

What?s the process to warranty/ship a gun back. My S&W 617 has timing issues and lead spitting issues.

If S&W won't issue you a shipping label and you have to ship it on your own, use "shipmygun.com." You'll be shipping it with UPS but it's much cheaper going through SMG.com. It's also getting damn near impossible to ship direct with UPS/FedEx.

Ideally they will send you a shipping label for you to bring the packed up gun to FedEx or ups and then mail back to your house when finished but that isn’t how some manufacturers are operating after FedEx and UPS became anti gun

Nhc made me go through a local FFL to ship a gun to them and they will only ship back to an FFL

Agree with all of above. Depends on who is doing the work. I just had a couple CZs worked on by Cajun Gunworks and they required shipping and receiving back at an FFL.

I'm looking to have action work done on a CZ shotgun by Griner Gunworks and this is their policy

Remember, it is legal for you to ship a firearm to a licensed gunsmith for repairs or customization. You do not need an FFL yourself, or need to go through a dealer if you wish. That is why I have an FFL type 7 (manufacturer). Just ship it! Most carriers have their own rules on shipping,, but UPS and FedEx are prefered. They ship right to my door.

Please email or call when you ship, so I can keep track of what’s coming in. I will email back when the firearm arrives, put it on my schedule, and I will email or call you when it is ready to ship back with tracking numbers.

Be sure to pack the firearm securely! Bubble wrap, wadded newspaper, and such are prefered. Please don’t put the gun in popcorn media. Double box and securely tape the package.

I'll defintely have a look at shipmygun.com for that second option as my FFL wanted to charge me transfer fees for both shipping and receiving from CGW.

Ask the S&W rep to see if they will give you a label.
My UPS store just took it and said they treat it just like any other package.
I did this with Browning. They also paid me $75 for DROS after they replaced my receiver and shipped it to my FFL for free.

You can ship the 617 to S&W and receive it back without FFL if same serial #. You can only use UPS and FedEx.

I originally gave the gun back to the ffl I bought it from and they misplaced it for awhile. I’m not there to receive a firearm at the house and don’t want it left out by the door.

I am in the process of having S&W repair a revolver.

Call S&W's customer service. They will email you a shipping label and they will ask you to also send them a written description of what you want them to repair.
