MG 42??

While looking at some of the Ukraine video on youtube, I've seen what looks like a mg42. Does the Ukraine army have these (or updated version) in use??
If so, what caliber??

Yeah, they have a new name though. I forget it. They are very effective and prevalent.

After ww2 surplus guns were sold everywhere. It is not surprising at all that they still have ww1 and ww2 guns. They still are using maxims. The only real question is what amount of ammo do they have for those guns. 8mm isn’t really produced anymore and a lot of old stockpiles are going bad. They could be converting them to 308.

Not only the MG42, but some civilian “groups” or “militia” have been recorded using STG-44’s, (where they get the ammo, I have no idea), old Soviet PPSh-41’s, Mosin-Nagant M91/30’s, Mossberg 500 shotguns, CZ75’s, Beretta 92’s, Kel-Tec 2000’s, various AK-47’s and many many “Eastern European” weapons donated from reserves of the Cold War. There’s even a thread of an SKS seen in someone’s hands in Ukraine, over on the sksboards forum website.

I was just going to mention this. Seeing a current video of a Russian soldier sporting a 91/30 was just weird.
