What does LAPUA mean?

[Napalm Bulldog]

So I have seen a few posts using the word LAPUA. Tonight I was watching the NCIS marathon and they metioned it in a .308. What does it mean? Thanks for the help.

It's a Finnish ammunition factory located in a town of the same name.

Well, it is generally considered to be very high quality.

They make excellent brass and bullets. My 5R loves the 155gr Scenars

6.5 x 47 Lapua is VERY special ammo. I'm getting the shakes just thinking about it!
