It takes me a few days to post all my thoughts. I got the first segment of my annual SHOT Show After Action Report live this morning.

I think this SHOT Show brought a lot of interesting things to look forward to this/next year. Despite being the first SHOT show I've attended, I was impressed that a few booths made me want to look forward to their products coming soon.

The only thing was trying to talk to the right reps for the most accurate information... Some were definitely smoking something and not being in the loop with the other people there such as the engineers or designers lol

It would just make me depressed seeing all of those new semi-autos pistols that will never see the store shelves here in CA

That's the aspect with any trade show. You end up talking to people who only know the high-level information.

For example, in Part 1 of my recap a rep was talking to me about the Savage A22 Takedown and knew just enough, but didn't really give information about the lockup design durability.

After the guy left and I was taking photos, another Savage rep came up next to me and asked my opinion. When I showed some concern about the longevity of the lockup of the barrel and receiver given that there is no tension adjustment like on the Ruger 10/22 TD, he started breaking down the steel they used as well as explaining the internal design of the receiver 'sleeve'.

So yes, you often may not be able to get the right answer unless you talk to the person in the know.

We will enjoy seeing and buying some new products at the NRA convention this April .
Yes the NRA convention has a 16 acre gun show as part of its attraction to the 90,000 attendee's .
Free to all NRA members .

I've been reading and watching a lot of reviews of Shot Show '23. Haven't seen much that really excites me to be honest. I do like that Beretta updated their Cheetah. I was hoping to see something new from HK but as usual...nothing.

I stopped shooting Service Rifle in 2010. Since I don't shoot 3-gun, I don't really shoot the AR much except for defensive proficiency.

There's more to be had for me just shooting rimfire and/or centerfire bolt.
