    Purchasing a new Marlin 1894

Does anyone have any experience purchasing a Marlin rifle from www.marlingunsexpress.com ?

Is it legit? I tried to purchase a Marlin 1894 but it seemed very suspicious. They asked me to send funds from my paypal to and individual.

Thanks in advance for any info.

    That does not sound legit.

Also, per PayPal TOS, using their service for firearm transactions violates the PayPal TOS, so no refunds/returns will be issued and can result in accounts being frozen.

Quick search seems to indicate that the business is not located in the USA.

      Pretty sure it's not legit.

            SCAM.

The Marlin 1894 is currently "in between" production runs. You might! find one or three "New Old Stock"/N.O.S. Marlin 1894 on a legit auction site like Gunbroker but be prepared to PAY.

I'd simply keep looking in any brick-and-mortar retailers/resellers/pawn shops for a used Marlin 1894 in .38/.357, .41 Magnum (if you're very, very lucky), .44 Magnum or .45 Colt...

Ruger has acquired all Marlin long guns assets and machinery and is now producing two variants of the Marlin 1895 (.45-70) - a 19.1" SBL and a 16.1" Trapper. We're all pretty danged sure RuLin/RuMar will be tooling for a new 1894 in most of the popular sixgun cartridges previously listed, and we're all hoping it's very soon.

*but chances are Ruger will first tool up for any of the popular Model 336 chamberings (.30-30, .35 Remington, and/or .444 Marlin)
              .

*the .444 chambering was found in a "beefed-up" variant of the 336 called, simply enough, a Model 444
                .

There are also Ruger, Browning and Winchester scam sites. Be careful where you order things.
