    OCIndoor closed

    Haven't seen this elsewhere, so...

For those in or near Orange Co., was surprised to fine that OCIndoor range is closed as of Jan. 9.

Some of the details are here: https://www.ocindoorrange.com

Apparently the property leasing company decided they didn't want a shooting range on their property, so didn't renew the lease.

Owner is looking for a new property, but it will take some time to get up and running somewhere else.

If interested, they intend to be posting updates to social media. Links are on the web page referenced above.

Brea indoor was amazing to come to shoot off a few hundred round and call it a day, have done a few ppt and went amazing with no problems and quick transfers. A little dated, but regardless can't wait to see what becomes of it. If they are listening thank you for allowing my children to come and shoot. The doggie is priceless, love that little hound. Appreciate all you have brought so close to home!

Oc Indoor was good at first, when the Asian and White guy was working the counter. When the
Hispanic looking guy took over or stayed for most of the operation, it **** the bed per se. At least to me.
The douche starting charging tax on lane rentals, gave the green light on few lets say BLM tshirt wearing fools the ability to shoot rifle caliber, and then when I went to get mine from my car, straight denied.
Then I saw a Great Dane AK, probably the most expensive piece of crap AK builds (or the one I saw at OC Indoor), on sale there. Opened up the dust cover, and never knew they could use JB Weld to weld the piston and bolt.... and charge $800 for something that deserves a Cursed Guns medal.

Supposedly they are looking for a place in Yorba Linda area. The owners are Asian I think or heard, but when I asked that Hispanic looking dude, he claimed himself as the owner. Which I doubt, and him just being a douche that he is.

Hopefully they change their thought on rifles at new place. Other than the blm incident I experienced, this was their rule...

You can't shoot rifle calibers because they are not rated for that except when you're LE or friends of the employees, then I guess it grants them rifle rating lol...

If it is Asian owned, I can at least say they run some of the worst ranges. Insight shooting range anyone?

What are everyone's thoughts regarding La Puente indoor range?

My best friend was a friend of thew owner and I did a couple PPT's there. Fast and easy is the only way to describe the transactions. I never used the range but the place had a great LGS/range vibe. I hope they find another location and reopen.

Great loss. Hopefully temporary. As others have said, most painless PPTs in SoCal and 2 miles from my house .

I've only had good experiences there. When I paid by the hour, they let me stretch without charge. When I purchased a membership they charged me the renewal rate, threw in an extra month, and let me son share my lane for free.

I'm sorry to see them go. I hope they're back in business soon, ideally still in northern Orange County.

Maybe they should come back as just a FFL, cus their ranges and range rules and LE/Friends privilege was BS, and looks like most of y'all that had experiences with the Range was only for the Retail side of the business.

As a shooter with a previous membership, who attempted to renew, but was asked to pay standard rates due to reduced business, I wasn't deterred. I continued to PPT occasionally, and shoot.

What was BS according to you? You seem a little frustrated, so what practices did they have with which you didn't agree? I'm really curious.

They are not rated for rifle caliber, unless you are LE or friends/family of the employees.

RO sits behind his front counter with his back turned against the range, and when you complain about a constant flagger that doesn't heed your polite requests, "oh I don't know, I didn't see, but I will check." And then goes back diddling.

Straight unwelcoming attitude from the buzz cut Hispanic employee and him charging tax on lane rentals which never happened when the Asian or White employee behind the counter or pre-covid. This is probably ymmv.

It was the first range I frequented alot pre-covid, but once I found out the qualities of On-Target range rules vs. the rest of ranges in OC, I realized how much of a joke of a range OC Indoor, Insight, and other similarly of those indoor ranges were. (FT3 is the other good range in OC for long arm users, but no bueno for cheap ammo users unless you like shooting brass)
