Get onyx and find blm and state lands, dfw lands, etc. Try blm website. People are to lazy to find their own shooting/ hunting spots.

Try this. I tried to post the link but had issues. It's the screenshot or the site.

Look up your local BLM office and talk to them.

After that never talk about it on Calguns again. The spot I use to go to was ruined when it got out on Calguns.

Unfortunately shooting spots are like good fishing holes and fight club.

bit of a learning curve to this, and I can't say if it's up to date or not but....

I once posted where I like to shoot because it’s “silent & solitude.” Nobody there, open public land, nice berms for backstops, Cottonwood trees with a small creek running through it. Sometimes a nice mulie or two pass on through.

I gave out the exact location, but only for those that I gave my top secret decoder to. If you have my decoder, you know this place:

So true but if you use your map & the one I posted directions too, it shows that a lot of BLM properties would fall under local county regulations I think.

San Bernardino county has a really good map of permitted areas.

I've not found a similar map for any other county in California. Only other one I found was for Clark County (Las Vegas) Nevada.

There is a ranger station at jawbone, call them.

Be careful when you speak with BLM. I asked for a map once at my local office and while getting it for me, they asked what I wanted to do on the land. I told them I was going target shooting, and he told me I couldn't target shoot out there, which was completely incorrect. He referred me to another location, which was twice the distance of my intended location. Either he was misinformed or didn't want shooters out there.

I also got some instructions from a forest service employee once who told me I couldn't go backpacking in a particular location because it was considered a spiritual place by a local indian tribe, even though camping there was completely legal.

Getting their information and help is good, and is most likely correct, but double-check it.
