    Magpul New Daka Grid Organizer

Magpul has come up with a new foam solution for gun cases. Looks pretty cool, very easy to use, and very versatile. You can easily reconfigure the case, as needed, without messing with the hassle of cutting foam...or needing to buy new foam if you want to change the layout.

$159 is nuts. Their foam costs as much as a case.

Yes, it's a cool new product, but not at that kind of pricing.

How spendy is it to dedicate a case and foam set to a single rifle setup that can never be used for anything else...without either buying a whole new case or another foam set?

If you just need a case solution for a single gun, then yea, it's spendy. But I think the versatility of this and the ability to use it for just about any rifle you have and to reconfigure it at will, justifies the price.

How much would it cost the old way if you needed a case for five different rifles? How about 10?

With the above said, ditching the foam and using a soft case inside the hard case is also a VERY versatile system and probably cheaper than this. YMMV.

Strike Industries will release the same product for half the price in 3…2…1…

Just take out the middle piece of foam from your case and wrap your guns and other stuff in towels. Then close the case and you're good-to-go. Plus, you then have cleaning towels wherever you're headed to. One case is good for any gun you have with this technique.

Not a fan - it looks like fiddling and you still get gaps and shifting gear. They are adding straps, something you shouldn't need in hard case with foam. For me, it's still the easiest to have just soft foam with no cutouts and press it closed - nothing moves, no adjustments, any gear fits.

Well i mean it is cheaper to copy then send to china to manufacture.

But one can make their own version of this by using closed cell foam and pvc.

Wrap pvc pipes in the foam and get a large sheet of exercise mat and cut some peg holes.

I think its innovative. The block kits could have some optional "oversized" units to avoid needing straps, like how they have the angled blocks shown for unique uses.

If it would hold onto paint, that would be cool for multiple configurations. Color coded setups, match the block color to the pattern on the base to quickly configure for each use

The grid organizer is a standard feature in the hard cases that Magpul is going to be releasing this year.

                          Ah this got me!

It's a pretty neat system for sure and I am intrigued as well for my set ups.
As mentioned in another post above if you have several long guns and want to reconfigure as needed, this would be great. But for a one only gun it's still good but just pricey.

Yeah, could never figure out why people need "custom" fit foam....
