Have you ever placed an ad in CL? It's no different. It's easy to think everyone in gun forums are all one big happy and honest family. Thats being rather naive.

Scammers are everywhere. Don't think a gun forum is a place where it's "We're all in this together", it is not, not even close. Don't confuse all people supporting the 2nd/A or posting in gun forums with not being the same people ripping off others.

Let Go of the Status Quo!

Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?

Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

Defense is a losing proposition when time is on the side of the opponent. In the history of humanity, no defense has ever won against an enemy with time on their side.

If your looking at the off-roster handguns there is a premium added to those.
If it's a stock gun and on roster, you can find cheaper deals and you just have to search.

Scammers aside, "WTB" is translated my many as "willing to pay above market price".

IMO it is better to quietly peruse the forsale ads looking for what you want.

Yeah, we're lucky we don't have the option to do these like a drug or ...gun deal out in some parking lot where you bring some friends and they bring some friends....

The chances that someone wanting to sell happens to see your WTB post are slim to none. So don't expect much success from WTB.

As already mentioned, off roster handguns fetch a premium because Californians generally cannot buy them new.

Guns at a fair price tend to get snapped up quickly, which leaves a good number of overpriced gun ads.

Think about it. If I have something to sell, am I going to search the WTB ads to try to find a buyer, especially if I am like most and have limited time. I have work and family obligations.

Like most, I am going to post an ad in the for sale section so those that are searching for what I am selling will contact me. I put out the information that hopefully weeds out the potential buyers I do not want to deal with.

This is why the WTB ads are ripe for scammers. Because they draw so many scammers, even more people stay away from them.

This is CA, there will always be a premium for off-roster. If you can buy it cheaper at retail, do it. Many are able to sell above retail because the average person cannot buy off-roster from their local FFL. So if you want an off-roster, you have to buy it from a private party.

We are on the tail end of an industry wide gun shortage. So for a while, even if you wanted to buy from your local FFL, they had nothing to sell and if they did, they were selling above MSRP. So if you were buying from private parties, you had to pay the inflated price or wait months for your local FFL to get what you wanted back in stock. Some sellers think they can still get those inflated prices.

So, if you see a price you are not willing to pay, move on. We are not in a free state so prices are higher. If you do not like the prices, move to a free state.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

You make a great target with no i-trader count. Then add in your brand new to CG with only 4 posts.

Scammers use wtb posts all over the internet to sucker people.

It's like a magnet for scammers and you are advertising that you are willing to entertain the idea of paying a random internet stranger for something they supposedly have if it is not face to face.

But how is it there is no minimum for access to the aforementioned part of the forum?
Most places don't let 1 post wonders nor just joined today members have access..
