I was thinking the same thing, its pretty rust and honestly I really am not sure if I would even want to fire it if I ever owned it. I just wasnt sure if the C&R factor would give it some brownie points.


As for the Ruger I was looking at the cyclinder in the pic and it does look like it has the little door on the right hand side that the single six has.

Ruger single actions all have the rounded loading gate (unless they're early models). If you have a better pic or can read the first two digits of the serial number that would help...

I did not know that, thanks. As for a better pic, my boss gets back from vacation today so when I go to work tonight I will see if she can get some one to take some better pics of all the guns.

The second rifle is a Savage Model 99. In various configurations and models, in VG condition they can be worth from $350 - $800. You need to get the serial numbers, calibers and markings on all the guns.

99's can now go for much more than that depending on model, seen a few sell in the neighborhood of $2000, but that's the exception, not the rule.

With 99s, it all depends on the model, the caliber, and the condition. I have seen some early guns with factory engraving that are in the $25,000 range. I have seen (and bought) shooters in some of the less desirable calibers for $250 in the past couple of years. The desirable calibers fall into two groups. The very rare, and the modern. .25-35, .250 Savage, 6mm Remington and such are rare, and if factory, worth a lot. Modern calibers like .243, .308 and .358 also raise the price, as many shooters want something that is easy to find. .300 Savage, .303 Savage, .30-30 and .22 Hi-power aren't as interesting to most people, so they tend to go for less. Also, if a 99 has the spool magazine, it will command more than the box magazine versions. Check out gunbroker for some idea what they are selling for. And look at the auctions that have actually sold instead of the couple of overpriced ones that some people have been flogging on there for months. If you figure out what caliber it is, post it on here. I like the old oddballs, and I am alway on the look out for them.

Savage 99 could be in .410 if a takedown model. The rear sight would argue against that, unless there is a spare barrel set. I have seen combo 219 and .410 sets. Or it could have been acquired or maintained with the 410 barrel on it. Just a possibility.
