Is this what has been going on in CA?

H.R. 8361 would establish a "voluntary" database to DELAY firearms transactions.
Maybe this has been on a trial run here in CA considering all the "Straight to delay " scenarios of late . Taking into consideration all the shops that do not release on undetermined. Hmmmmm.

Does seem to be something going on with all the people being delayed that previously had no issues.

Nothing the state puts out there as voluntary stays that way. It's just the first step to forcing you to comply.

Reading that bill, I’m surprised to see if they put themselves on a delay database they can remove themselves
The mere fact you place yourself indicates your not well in the head

Deelayed, this is a US Congress bill and has nothing to do with "delayed" status of gun purchases in CA.

This is as it should be. If you couldn't remove yourself, few people would ever consider taking advantage of this...because they'd never get their guns back...or at least not without a whole lot of red tape. If the goal is truly to try and reduce suicides, then it should be simple to add and remove yourself.

maybe Congress can amend the bill to allow gun owners to voluntarily to turn in their weapons and get them back at will.

if successful, maybe they'll expand the scope every year...

Lizzo needs a law like this on food.

Biden needs one on handing out welfare money.

Why not? The idiot voters here approved higher gas taxes. They are a special kind of stupid.

Back? As I read it, this only seeks to delay a new purchase. Then again, I get bored reading legalese, so maybe I missed something.

I get that. But could it be a possibility that the gov has been doing a trial run in CA to see the effectiveness ?
