You have a 9mm conversion barrel?
You should also swap out the extractor and ejector for 9mm for better reliability.

I have a glock 22 with a storm lake 9mm conversion barrel. Other than mags, didn't have to change anything and has been 100% with thousands of rounds.

I have a Glock 23 that I use for EDC. I bought a Lone Wolf 9MM barrel and G19 magazines. It's been vary reliable, only malfunctioned a couple of times with Blazer 9MM aluminum cases.

I didn't change anything else out. I will NOT, because it's my EDC. I only use the 9MM conversion for recreational shooting. Works great for that.

You need to decide if the G26 or G27 will be used for EDC. If you're going with 9MM for the future, get the G26 and trade off the 40 ammo.

If you want the G27 for EDC, then do what I do and not change anything else out and use the 9MM conversion for range practice only.

I have enough defensive 40 ammo to last me a number of years. I can save my defensive 40 ammo and practice with the cheaper 9MM ammo.

I had a 27 with a storm lake conversion barrel, drop in with no issues. I also experimented with the 40 cal mags, I found if they are brand new and never have had any 40 ammo in them, they will function with 9mm ammo. Once the feed lips are spread...hehehe, they will no longer hold 9mm. It goes without saying, dont trust the 40 cal mags for self defense.

Ditto, except I have no problems with any .40sw mag, new or used. Also didn't change the extractor. Well worth the $ imho

No direct experience, but after looking at the costs associated and the fact I wouldn't really be converting it back and forth and potential reliability issues, I just got another Glock.

I converted a stripped frame, but other than the fact that the serial # shipped as a 40, it's 100% 9mm parts.

I have a conversion lone wolf barrel for my 27. I haven't had any issues with just the barrel change it has worked really well. I have maybe shot 200 rounds ish though. so, take it for what's it worth. for mags I use the 10 rounders from my 19 with the xgrip extension.

My G27 ran 9mm great with just a barrel and mag change.

The Glock 40 slides are heavier than the comparable 9mm slides by a couple of ounces. They intentionally cut out more metal in 9mm slides. The breech face is smaller on the 9mm and the ejectors and extractors are different. All of that would keep me from using the conversion barrel when my life might depend on it, and the slide weight difference could be a problem with light loads or weak grip in some non optimal self defense scenario. That being said, the conversion barrels work fine for me and would save money on practice ammo. A regular rifled barrel is better than the polygonal rifling for cheap plated and soft lead bullets.
