California would be well over $2000 if not $2500. All off roster plus highly sought after.

True, but as a more than likely C&R exemption it shouldn't suffer from the roster premium and a savvy shopper who can work with an out of state purchase could have is pick nation wide.

Anyone here in CA could probably choose among any of them. Just date it by serial number.

$2000 is probably to celling for the one being discussed if sold locally and $1500 if sold on-line.

This was modern production, a variation of the Mark III; it's not C&R. Made from mid 1990's through to the late 1990's, and therefore do not have C&R status. I've seen them go for $2,000 and up in CA when available by PPT or CA auctions by way of consignment.

Outside of CA if 'like new in box' auctions fetch $1,200 to $1,600. The links you provided are not comparable; one is out of CA, and the other is a true C&R example. As a touchstone, I paid $1,220 for mine in 2012, which as I recall, $1,200 was the MSRP in the late 1990s anyway. It's unfired (other than factory), new in the box, the serial number is a couple of thousand later than OP's. Merely got it because the opportunity presented itself.

As a collector of Hi-Powers, they are a unique item to have in the line of oddball hi-powers over the years, and likely will be the last ever to be made with tangent sights.

The ambi-safety and tangent sights are certainly cool, however, a disappointing feature of this gun is the superficial slot on the backstrap is that and nothing more. Would rather they had simply not added it at all.

It won't actually accept a shoulder stock. It's neither dovetailed nor the right size for any known shoulder-stocks and none were made for this model. It's like a fake hood-scoop and non-functional vents on a 2007 Mustang.

The 245 prefix just means it's a 9mm. The next two letters look like 'NX" which would signify 1993 production. I would ask $3000 in California.

Agree on both points; if I were looking to spend $2,000-plus on a collectible Hi-Power, particularly with tangent sights, I certainly would be looking at earlier C&R examples instead.

I only got mine because of its obscurity as an odball, but I got it at 'regular' free-state price.

Even if I did not have one already, but still had an itch to buy this model to fill a void in my oddball Hi-Powers collection, I wouldn't pay more than $2,000 at the CA off-roster premium pricing.

Start getting into that pricing territory with off-roster Hi-Powers, I would be looking at the GP or FN SFS models instead.

Agreed with above. Not C&R, made in 93. I would price it at $2000. Market seems soft on higher end guns and collectables at the moment. Hopefully you don't need the money fast.
