Beautiful gun! I agree, it looks too good to be true! I'd have to see it in person before bidding...

I have got to believe the barrel at least has been heavily polished and reblued. The roll mark is mostly gone.

Amazing that people try to sell nice guns like this with such crappy photos. It's not very difficult to light and take good pictures of guns that reveal what's really going on with finish, barrel, wood, it can even be done with a phone but the lighting has to be correct.

1894 and that means black powder only.

I see it has the screw (early) type ejector pin release instead of the late push button type, late type began in 1896.

It's also the half moon ejector head (late) ejector rod which replaced the full moon bullseye head in 1884.

So both features are correct for 1894.

The wear and age doesn't match the finish. It's been reblued.

Ya, someone went heavy on the buffing wheel and reblued it. I also dont like the cylinder. I think its overpriced at 1500

Yes refinished. You can totally see the light reflecting off the barrel , and the line is all “wanky” .Someone got carried away on there Baldor with a rope sisal wheel.I’d pay $900-1,100 max ,walk away fast at $1,700.

While the eagle grips are correct and we’re replaced two years later to the type without the eagles, these do not fit the grip frame perfectly. Slight dishing of the left frame screw holes and a faint rampant Colt stamp means refinished as already mentioned by others. But patent dates are pretty good. At that current price or higher, I like it a lot.

I'd love to find a first gen shooter. But not at that price.

Its in a lot better shape then mine; mines 1878 and 1891 per the Colt letters. But that barrel looks modified - I'm wondering if was cut down from 7.5? A lot were.
