    For sale adds with photos.

I am doing my daily physical exercise-going through Handguns for sale and see a lot adds has pictures attached size of 240X240 pixles. Why so small? Can you see yourself what you are posting? Are you trying to hide something? I am not going even to consider to start conversation if I can not see at list some details of item for sale! What the rest of team will say?

When you attach pics to the post without hosting it somewhere else, I believe the forum software limits the size that can be displayed regardless of the original image size.

Those postage stamp sized images in the Marketplace drive me crazy too. How can someone decide to buy a used gun if we can't even see it? Setting up an Imgur account and knowing that a 1200 pixel wide image or larger is what's needed isn't rocket science.

There's this thing called google. If you have an account, some don't, they have photos. Create a folder with sharing. Put your pictures there and you can "host" your pictures.
It's not hard, but maybe many don't know or don't have a google account.

Maybe you're just looking at ads for micro compacts.

Joking aside, I hear you. It's really easy to post a normal size picture from a hosting site, and dont understand why more people don't take the time to do this for something they are trying to sell. Take an extra minute or two to take a nice picture and then google on how to post from a hosting site and I bet they'd get much more interest.

Opinion: I have sold several firearms using phone photos uploaded to CG. I am asked size I want to upload and usually select medium as large is almost over 1M in size. The pictures seems fine to me, but thoughts appreciated.

Also, the uploaded photos are links that users must click through VS imbedded photos; which is preferable? I have not been keen to use hosting sites for photos as that requires an additional account for very little usage.

I am just pointing out as I see it as bad marketing.

I'm not going to buy a car off of some photos in an ad, if I'm serious I'll ask for better pictures texted or emailed and then inspect in person. Same should apply for a firearm, although it's not that serious.
