    Golden Bear ammunition..thoughts?

So i bought 100 rounds of this stuff to test out. Anyone have experiences with it? Its brass plated steel cased, I'm hoping it works okay so i'll be able to shoot a little more and save some money.

My other question is, can this stuff be used at public ranges? I've tried to find more info about it, but no luck. Not a big deal if I cant, but would be nice if i can.

    Thanks!

What kinda gun you shooting? Should be fine...I have shot the stuff before in .308, 5.56, 7.62x39.

    Nothing bad to say here.

Most ranges only have issues with steel core ammo...and thats usually if your shooting steel targets with it. Some ranges have different rules, its best to call up and ask.

It may or may not be steel core...doubtful. Thats a pretty good deal there. Is it lacquer coated? Even if it is you shouldn't have issues with only 100 rounds being fired. Sometimes you get some of the lacquer build up in the chamber area...just clean well when you are done either way.

        Any time man...have fun shooting!

99% sure my magnet will stick to the bullet real well and if thats the case at most outdoor ranges it'll be a no go.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

Its brass plated steel cased ammo...its more of a test to see if my rifle will run it ok. Its 62 gr., and i'm hoping it runs well so i can buy more!

I started a thread about the various Bear brand ammo a while ago, people say it seems to work just fine except from the normal issues with steel casings.

Thats why we should boycott the ranges that have this. Why would you want to go to a range to shoot quality ammo. I thought ranges were there to shoot cheap ammo and have a good time. Leave the quality stuff for when its really needed. Seems to me they just want the brass so they can re sell it to you as a reload. Maybe we should pick up our shells and make them buy it from us.Wonder if that would change their thinking. Just a thought.

I always police my brass. And I pick up any steel casings and dump them in the recycle can at the range.

                    Don't you?

outdoor ranges dont like steel core ammo because it tends to spark off of steel and rocks and start fires.

I bought 500 rounds thinking it was lead core but it's all steel core no doubt so no, most CA ranges won't allow it. It's not laquer coated. It's sorta dirty ammo to me, not a true brass ammo by any means, but it's cheap and a i prefer it to steel case Wolf.

It's not just steel core ammo that they don't like, it's steel jacketed ammo, too.

It is lead core, but I tried to warn you about it having magnetic projectiles...
