Indian Ammo; another warning from DSA

I don't know if this is a DUPE but I figured if it wasn't it would better to be safe rather than sorry. Below are links to the thread on Falfiles and another link to cetmerifles about the same thing. many pics of destroyed guns on cetmerifles.

    Link

Rounds with punch... '70s production mil. surplus
with "OFV" headstamp. 147-gr. full metal jacket
    bullet, brass cased, Boxer-primed, non-corrosive,
reloadable. Muzzle Velocity: 2,750 F.P.S. Muzzle
    Energy: 2,520 ft.-lbs. (approx. measures). 5 rds.
per stripper clip, 50 rds. per bandoleer.

    Hi Jeff,

I don't have a problem with you sharing my
    comments. This ammo is
notorious for blowing guns up, and it is dirty.
I don't understand why this ammo is even
    imported. There are many
dealers that will not sell Indian ammo because
    they are aware of the
potential hazard. Of all the ammo we have ever
    seen, Indian ammo is by
far the worst. Please be sure to include that we
    are not 100% sure that
OFV is Indian, be we are pretty sure that it
    Varoon, which is India.

We have had many questions about our ammo
warning, and DSA is to my
knowledge the only company that takes the time to
    post and share info on
    potentially harmful ammo.

    Best Wishes,

    Marc Galli
    DSA Inc.

    End of email.

Please understand folks, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade....just asking a tough question

Is the saving of 20cents per round worth the risk of ruining a rifle, or God forbid, severe injury?

Sportsmans Guide is famous for selling no name NATO 7.62x51mm surp. Back when aussie, port, etc was plentiful they would always either show the headstamp or tell you what make the ammo was. Not with this stuff -- Its always the indian crap. Its buyer beware at SG.

BTW, Indian is famously bad stuff.
