Yes.
What dealers charge to facilitate transfers varies across the USA.
Example...
... some AZ dealers charge $25 to facilitate transfers of firearms that are shipped to them.
... some MD dealers charge $300 to facilitate transfers of firearms that are shipped to them.
It all varies and is dependent upon local laws/regulations/fees.
For CA...
A CA FFL dealer can legally charge any amount of money to facilitate a non-PPT, in addition to the CA DROS fees.
A CA FFL dealer can legally charge $10 to facilitate a PPT, in addition to the CA DROS fees.
^A PPT = face to face private party transfer between CA residents that is facilitated by a CA FFL dealer
~If one of the parties involved is a non-resident of CA, then it's not a PPT and considered a type of dealer transfer.
~If the firearm is shipped, then it's not a PPT and considered a type of dealer transfer.
During the last 20 years, I've been quoted from $40 - $350 from a variety of CA FFL dealers in SoCal.
~IMO, $50-60 + DROS is a good deal for CA.
When ordering a CA legal firearm online, you need to factor in additional costs:
1. CA tax.
2. Shipping fees to the CA FFL dealer that will transfer it to you.
3. CA FFL dealer transfer fees.
4. CA DROS fees.Last edited by Quiet; 10-11-2022, 6:37 PM.sigpic
