Open ranges in NorCal?

Hi all.

I'm looking for some open land to go shooting in nor. cal, near Sacto.

I want to go someplace where I can do rapid-fire, holster drills, bring some fruit to shoot and just have fun without anyone telling me "no, you can't do that" or giving me funny looks.

Where is a good place to go?

Oroville public range near airport... unstaffed but up to 500 yards I believe.

Spenceville near Beale AFB... take your sidearm and a friend!

Definitely. Get their EARLY, consider body armor if you arrive late

Another reason I joined the local club. I dont have the temperment to deal with idiots.
Besides, membership has it's benefits; like being able to shoot nearly anytime I want!

the drunks usually show up by noon on weekends at specville.some gang member will auto gun on occasion.definatly have a side arm

Also note that Spenceville stopped allowing non-paper targets awhile back.

I've been there when there have been some shady characters present - and no, I wasn't one of the shady characters.
