Pistols: Light, short pull - flat. DA, heavy or long pull - curved.
Rifles: flat (it's always short pull).
I can't tell much of a difference for short, light triggers. My trigger finger rubs against the gun body and contacts the trigger at the highest point possible. For long triggers (DA revolvers, Kahr-style triggers) I prefer curved, so the angle of trigger resistance stays pretty constant through the motion. A flat trigger on a long pull would force me to pull up in addition to back in order to keep the finger sliding along the frame and not get pulled down the (now) angled trigger.
But all of these differences are really fine tuning and not worth worrying about. The trigger length of pull, weight and overall feel, in that order, will be a much bigger issue than the shape of the switch.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

It is really depends on the weapon type i.e. handgun, rifle, shotgun and purpose.
For me, on rifles - two stage, straight triggers, on revolvers curved, on semi-auto, I prefer straight 1911 style, but in the long run, weight is more important then shape.
On shotguns, what ever is there, I'm not really a shotgun guy, but I do prefer double triggers on my side by side doubles and no auto safety.Comment
