Do I need a featureless grip?

Just ordered this Ruger pc carbine and since the webbing of my hand is over the trigger do I still require a featureless grip? I have not assembles it yet until I sort this out.

Just ordered this Ruger pc carbine and since the webbing of my hand is over the trigger do I still require a featureless grip? I have not assembles it yet until I sort this out.

As previously pictured, the firearm is considered an assault weapon under CA laws.
^CA felony for making it [PC 30600(a)] and CA felony for possessing it [PC 30605(a)]

This is because it is a semi-auto centerfire rifle that does not have a fixed magazine and has a pistol grip [PC 30515(a)(1)(A)] and has a folding/telescoping stock [PC 30515(a)(1)(C)].

In order to be CA legal, it needs to be modified to either be a featureless set up or a fixed magazine set up.

A. Featureless.
1. The folding/telescoping stock needs to be fixed so that it can no longer fold and no longer extend/collapse.
2. A grip wrap/fin needs to be installed.
3. The overall length needs to be 30" or greater with the stock fixed in place and the non-permanently attached muzzle device removed.

B. Fixed magazine.
1. A 10 round magazine needs to be contained in the firearm and it can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or the 10 round magazine needs to be permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well.
2. The overall length needs to be 30" or greater with the stock folded/collapsed and the non-permanently attached muzzle device removed.



Penal Code 30515
(a) Notwithstanding Section 30510, “assault weapon” also means any of the following:
(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that does not have a fixed magazine but has any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.
(2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
(3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.
(b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.

Penal Code 30600
(a) Any person who, within this state, manufactures or causes to be manufactured, distributes, transports, or imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives or lends any assault weapon or any .50 BMG rifle, except as provided by this chapter, is guilty of a felony, and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 for four, six, or eight years.

Penal Code 30605
(a) Any person who, within this state, possesses any assault weapon, except as provided in this chapter, shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail for a period not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.

The stock is pinned so its fixed in place with a length of 37", and I'm using 10 round Glock mags and I had a boar grip laying around so I just installed it.
