FACTORY REMINGTON 870 W/LAW ENFORCEMENT FOLDING STOCK

As the title state, my dad has one from the 80's never shot

approx how much do you think he can sell it for
what is the process nowadays to sell something like this ppt or to ffl or pawnshop
Is it the folding stock that isn't legal anymore in california, or what makes it not legal in the current configuration
can this be grandfathered in for him, can he pass it down

maybe best for him to leave it as a pistol grip and or change the stock? it sounds like the internal is all steel as it makes a lot of noise when pumped

sorry guys i tried looking up all my questions in google and didn't get much feedback, so came here for the experts opinions.

Not sure the folding stock is an issue since it's manually operated. Also as far as selling it he would be able to do a pPT at a local FFL or pass it down to say his son using OPLAW. Again I could be wrong, and I believe there's an AW flowchart if that's what you're referring to.

        REMINGTON 870P w / factory folding stock

be careful firing with the factory steel folding stock , I heard it can swing open during recoil if not properly closed and could hit your face , especially with magnum loads.

looks cool but not too comfortable

ok thanks yes its 18" barrel and over 26" in length, plus following that chart it goes to legal. and folding stock doesn't even come into the question for legality when this meets all the legal feature requirements. I'll shoot him this info now that he can make a better wiser decision without being scared.

and thanks about folding stock warning from a recoil

I hated them then and I hate them now. If you aren't a motorcycle officer they are a joke, and I'd rather just cut down a fixed stock gun from both ends if it needs a short OAL. Just my opinion. That said, someone needs to crank out some reproductions if people are paying $600 and up.

Yes. Very cool looking, but will rip your cheek off. Personally, if I was going for a PG stock I like the the old SpeedFeed stock, cut shorter, add a Limbsver buttpad. Not folding, but infinitely more control and comfort.
