    Worth testing the Bkgd process?

I'm currently in the CCW queue in San Diego

Have a super clean bkgd, last ticket or accident is ~30 years ago, nothing else. Last firearm purchase was 8 years ago (I know, what's wrong with me...)

Currently need some HD ammo, is it worth testing the background process now with my Real ID, new address and such before I get to interview and start the CCW bkgd process?

    Thanks, Rick

Keep reading these threads about people asking whether or not it's worth it for them to apply for their CCW in light of the most recent SCOTUS decision. If you have to ask, then I'd say no, it's probably not worth your time, money or energy to pursue attempting to obtain a CCW.

I'm not worried about my bkgd check, more so thinking about other things to hang up the check such as mis-matched addresses, dupe name with a bad guy but I don't have a common last name... stuff like that

Then I probably wouldn't bother if I were you.

Acquiring ammo from a CA DOJ licensed ammunition vendor or CA FFL dealer is a different eligibility check process than going through a CCW permit application background check.

            Good to know

Would the same go for purchasing a new firearm? Same as the CCW check process?

The CA CCW background check process is more intrusive and goes beyond what is required for legally acquiring firearms or ammunition from a CA FFL dealer.

NO, Purchasing a new firearm is like getting your blood pressure checked, CCW Background check is like getting a colonoscopy!

                  1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
                  2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
                  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
                  4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).
