    Home Defense

Wearing only pajama bottoms and flip flops, U.S. Navy veteran Whitfield Smith grabbed his firearm and fired a warning shot. Then, all hell broke loose.

Why go outside? Call the police. Where I live about 5 cars would show up in 5 minutes. There is not much happening here.

Appears the shooting was all over before the cops were even called.

Which started right after his "ill advised warning shot".

Glad he didn't get hit in the barrage.

Discussed a week ago with a clip from their local news.

My biggest take away was the guy went out to confront an armed man he saw on his camera and encountered at least 2 shooters from multiple angles. Sounds like the shooter on the tree was a cover unit for the guy on the car.

          Scary times kids.

Not always the case, where I live the cops show up 2 days later just to take a report

                For PROWLER WITH GUN CALLS.

Last time I called cops was a month ago, due to attempted auto theft. That had previously happened days before. I called the 'business line" because it assuredly was not an emergency. At 12:34 am. Local PD responded at 12:40.

“I noticed the gentleman in the gray sweater running up my driveway hunched down, holding a firearm. And that’s when I knew I had to act,” Smith said.
Is he stupid? That ain't no gentleman. He's a damn criminal.

Nah. Truck guns aren't inherently bad just cuz one retard made a poor choice.

By himself (no backup) - tactically questionable (ROE between civilians and military are different). Then the warning shot (in the driveway)!
Good thing he does not live in California...

As others have said - hunker down in the strongest control point of the house, call 911, etc.

Disgusting how the police always call the assbites “gentleman” during interviews

Cops didn't say that. Cops didn't say anything in the video or the article.

The dufus who went and started a gun fight in his flip flops and jammies said that.
