Anytime I’ve ever bought anything off of GB It’s just been buy it now style and not an auction. Currently There’s something I want that’s on an auction. My question is whats the best strategy to winning auctions there? Is it like ebay where you just snipe everything in the last 15 seconds?

Right, they specifically put in the anti-sniping feature.Comment

In an ideal world you would bid the highest number you're most comfortable with and the system would start you off at the minimum and increase the bid incrementally on your behalf up to the number you set when another person tries to beat your starting bid.
Unfortunately, this is a less than ideal world, so I don't know how well that works on your behalf when scammers inflate the bid, if that happens.Comment

You cannot snipe. But if the auction ends later in the evening it could be very late east coast time, so I always wait until the last minute anyhow if it will be late on the east coast. And I wait until the last minute of every extension to increase my bid.
But ultimately if someone has entered a final price higher than you are willing to pay, they might be sound alseep while they are kicking your Axx as you play the "bid every 15 minutes" game.
So there is not much strategy you can employ other than the "have more money than the other guy" strategy

The best method is max bid right before the 15 minute count down. That way you don’t get into a bidding war before hand or extend the time.Comment

One thing that has worked for me is first I search locally if I can’t find it, I check the roster to find out if the gun is legal in CA as is and will the seller (GO THROUGH AN FFL) is registered to ship to CA. Next, I ask about any layaway option, if they offer it...I take it as it will buy me extra time to pay it off plus this gives me a little wiggle room to increase my max bid/go to war knowing the item will end up costing me a bit more but I’ll put in some overtime. I also wait to the last day to make my payment...sometimes it will buy me 4 days, sometimes 9 days of time. Good luck OP...post pics when you get it.Comment
