Any agency that runs the firearm after DROS is complete will get a response with the new owner's name.

To notify the state of CA that you no longer own the firearm, you have to fill out and submit the following:

You do nothing. Keep a record of the ffl you send it to. That FFL will have in it's records who you sold it to.

If you file the NLIP form with Ca you will only tattle on the new owner to the state of California.

Don't give California DOJ any information they don't need.

It's also not a legal requirement.

9 out of 10 times its better for you to sell it local via ppt. Cost of selling out of state will eat into your asking/profit dramatically. You'll forever be on CA's gun data base. Surprise!

No matter how you sell it, here or out of state your name is always going to associated with it. The states system is a historical record. In state sales or out of state sale where you file the form just removes your name from the top of the list when the serial number is run.

The buyer should pay for shipping. I'll even send shipping labels to the seller.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.
