My local gun shop held a two-day father's day sale last weekend. They had a used wood stock XTR in 30-06 that appeared to be in excellent condition. Possibly never fired. It did not have a scope. They had it listed for $750 on Saturday. I went back on Sunday to buy more ammo and it was still there. I guess it depends on if you want to sell it quickly or price it high and wait and wait and wait some more. Assuming that the scope is not a high end scope, I'd probably ask $600-$700 for the .270 and see what interest you get. That's kind of close to what a new Tikka would cost. I think the .256 Roberts might be a little less. But again, if you find someone who's looking for that cartridge.........

Simmons? If yes, it's a low end scope. They will not increase the value of your rifles.

Have you determined the year of manufacture? Pre-64 is a different market.

Yeah they are not pre 64 but nice rifles. My guess is the Roberts will be more desirable than the 270 but both are great calibers. I don't really follow what they go for. Maybe check Gun Broker and get an idea.

Post a picture of the bolt from the 270 out of the receiver.

All the bolt pictures you posted so far are push-feed bolts and that absolutely means post 1964 as there were no pre-1964 push-feed model 70's.

Or did you mean to type 1984 because that would jive with the bolt pictures and the XTR stamping.
