Too late; everything you should have bought in CA, you missed it by several years.

That anti-2nd Amendment legislation creeps up and sails right past you if you're not paying attention.

Yet, you could always go to a gun show this weekend to see what they're selling that you can't get at a gun store; ARs, G3s, MP5s, FN FALs, Galils, Uzis, and AKs, AR/AK pistols, some in full auto, plenty of Single Shot Exemption off roster wares, plenty of rifles in .50BMG, High-capacity magazines and/or rebuild kits, Drop In Auto Sears, Glock Full Auto Back-Plate switch adaptors, 80% lowers with finishing jigs, Bump-stocks, Suppressors... all with no background check, no waiting period, cash-and-carry at sweet low-discount pricing - you might have to fight for a place in the mile-long line though, as there are sure to be many similar California gun owners blitzing the door for much the same reasons - but worth the hassle.

I think the Great Western Gun Show is at Pomona next weekend - don't miss it, or you'll regret it, and miss out. If you're an NRA or CRPA member, you get $5.00 off parking and $2.00 off admission.

Any semiauto pistol or rifle. For pistols, you never know when a gun will fall of the roster, like the USP for example.

You need the best defensive weapon you are able to find along with whatever ammunition you can acquire to feed it. Something that works is better than nothing. Everyone is different. For me, I would focus on a shotgun for a number of reasons, not the least of which is versatility.

Sorry about the title, it’s not very clear. On you tube I’m seeing alot of new videos for recommendations for purchases in light of possible new firearm legislation. None of those videos were California specific so I thought I would ask on here. I’m just looking to add a few firearms to my collection that may not be available in the near future. Nothing over 1,000 dollars and obviously able to be bought here in California. Thank you

If the California politicians continue their course, they'll attempt to ban guns entirely.

Don't have a short term goal. Think about what you may want and buy that/those. Buy ammo, perhaps spare parts.

And then get some training how to use them.

Pretty much anything semi-automatic; magazines for them if they accept one, spare parts/springs for them all, and as much ammo and reloading equipment that you can get your hands on.

That's a pretty good place to start.

they will probably ban military calibers like 9mm , 5.56 , .308 , 45

any type of hunting / varmint rifle will be classified as a sniper rifle requiring special registration / insurance

just about anything and everything related to guns , except for LE

they will make it so difficult to obtain firearms , the average citizen will not own firearms

I would look for any semi auto pistol you may take a liking to.

Reloading supplies are big to me as ammo will be about the easiest way for them to stop sport shooting.
