I've always cleaned it ASAP whenever using that Yugo surplus. Windex it or hot water and CLP later.

That’s correct, no real issue if you clean it after. But honestly not much corrosive ammo out there anyways.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I found and bought some from True Shot it was 175.00 for 400 rounds so I couldn't pass that up. Yugoslavian military surplus. But for that price I'll clean it up if it gets to the point that I go through all my other non corrosive stuff. Also was surprised it was all brass.

The non corrosive was 350.00 for 500. I don't mind scrubbing.

You don't have to clean / flush the working parts immediately after shooting.

Just don't let it go weeks. Hot water will flush the corrosive salts.

Corrosive ammo is fine in an AK, I've shot lots of it and I still have lots of it. If you don't have hot water available to flush the corrosive salts from the ammo, just clean your rifle with a mixture of 10% Ballistol and 90% water. When you mix the two, it looks like milk.

How about peeing on it? Wouldn't that be like a warm Windex?

I actually do shower with my x39 rifles after we've been to the range.
And no, none of us are sporting wood during the process.

After M67 or 7n6, my AKs (and Galil ACEs) get an ultrasonic bath:

Followed by compressed air blasts into the nooks and crannies, then a couple of hours baking in the sun.

Anyone know which brands of ammo are corrosive? Wolf, Tula, G Tiger, Barnaul, Red Army... all say non. Haven't seen any that indicates corrosive.

Yup! The Ballistol and water is a great way to flush the corrosive salts!

Those are all non corrosive. The surplus Yugo m76 is corrosive. Older Chinese surplus is also corrosive.

The surplus Russian AK-74 ammo is also corrosive.

The easy way to clean any rifle after shooting corrosive ammo is remove the bolt and carrier as well as the gas tube.

If the rifle has a muzzle brake, remove that.

Get a small container of hot water and place it on the ground. Put the muzzle of the rifle in the water, and put a cleaning rod with a brass brush down the barrel from the breech.

Leave the muzzle in the water and push the brush through the bore into the water.

Brush a few times. The brush will suck the water up the bore and wash out the salts.

Let the rifle dry muzzle down. Then oil as usual.

Wipe the operating parts with fresh hot water and let dry. Oil them and you're done.
