    Fun day at Gunsite

Had a great day at Gunsite today. I volunteer on my church's safety team and one of our team members is a Gunsite instructor. He was able to get us a day of range time there. It's a great place if you guys get the chance to attend.

A lot of it was reinforcement of skills for some of the newer guys. The shoot house was the most fun. Shooting from a vehicle was good training also, as well as clearing rooms while using live ammo (frang.)

Its on my bucket list and Gunsite fans might enjoy reading this article courtesy of The American Rifleman found on search engine Qwant.
A memorial service for Janelle Cooper—co-founder of Gunsite Academy who died on July 28 at her home at Paulden, Ariz.—will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Prescott, Ariz.

"Mrs. Cooper celebrated her 99th birthday in May with family and friends at Gunsite’s “Revelation” classroom. Her final resting place is next to her husband—who preceded her in death in 2006—in a mausoleum at Gunsite Academy":.

I had the honor of meeting and talking with Jeff and Mrs Cooper in 1994 .
Friends visiting Gunsite might want to buy Col Coopers great books ,To Ride Shoot Straight and Tell the Truth and his later, Another Country.

I attended back when Col. Cooper was still there. I am pretty sure he would not have taken well to your politics.

Neat place! I've been there for training a few times. Nice having it so close!

Yes, nice having it so close. Also their onsite gunsmith, Dave Fink is a great guy and smith.
