That is an interesting question, maybe punch some numbers on them . If they declined , start yelling in the most upset ,unhinged ,loud voice you can muster. " Yeah tell that to a mother who lost her child because of a gun like this being on the street ! Accuse them wanting more violence and carnage .
Let them know a clever criminal could convert that into a killing machine, because they are smart .

By the same logic , barrels , stocks ,springs, worn trigger assemblies and all gun parts should also be eligible for cash, gift cards, groceries and whatever else these mind control experiments are offering.

I lawyer once told me he had access to a gun and drove to the police station to turn it in . He was disappointed they seemed less less delighted to receive this item.
Guess he expected a good conduct medal or something. Of course we know they thought him a real dunce giving away something that could save his life .

Down here airguns get you nothing. If stolen they contact owner to retrieve.

Anyone who would voluntarily give up a gun shouldn’t own one anyway.

Crazy that anyone would give most of these away for a gift card.

Except for maybe that cut down 22 bolt action rifle next to the box.

I'll bet that was stolen in its original configuration and chopped down later by some homie to rob liquor stores.

Someone turned in a pair of handcuffs along with their holstered revolver.
