Well they sure took advantage of you in that you did exactly what they wanted, help to boost their numbers.

Don't get it huh? Its a numbers game and isn't about what kind of type of guns they get. All you did was show up at the anti-gun protest with your I'm on your side turn in.

Your gun turn in helped who? Not you with a paltry $50. It helped every anti-gun anti-2/A group out there or do you think these gun buy backs are designed to reduce crimes where guns are used?

Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?

Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.

I’d rather turn old inoperable arms into wall hangers than turn them over to any government sponsored program.

          FJB and Gavin too!
Life was simpler, and more honest, when revolvers and lever actions were the rule.

Was there anyone standing at the street corner with a "will buy your gun" sign?

My turn in helped me, and all gun rights groups. I didn’t help any anti gun group. You miss the point completely. Yes they will claim +1 more gun in their totals. But it doesn’t matter what the total is, they will claim it was successful. Regardless of what they collect. Them claiming success isn’t a victory of any sort. And while small, that’s $50 of their resources they no longer have.

So I gave them a worthless broken shotgun that I’ve considered taking a sledge to and tossing in the trash. And they got their “gun off the street”. And I drove off with $50 laughing at how stupid they are.
The real point was you showing up thinking you got over them when they got over you. The $50 wasn't their money it was everyone's money and in a tiny way, it was your own money too. You unknowingly supported the gun buy back. How did you help all gun rights groups?

It is about numbers. If no one showed up then that would be the failure. You showed up. As far as anyone else knows including the people running the program, anyone showing up was a success in their minds and that is what counts.

Thats right, you said it yourself, they get to claim they took a gun off the streets. Still don't get it right? For every person that turns in a gun that just reinforces their efforts and thinking.

Would you wear a t-shirt that said turn in your guns for $50 if they gave you another $50? In essence that is what you did by lending your support through appearance. They played you for $50 you didn't play them.

If 1000 people turned in 2x4s with metal pipes attached they'd still claim 1000 people turned in guns. So you show up and help.

They know the gun is worthless, you know the gun is worthless but who doesn't know that? The people that support them don't and that my friend, is what does count.

I get it, stick it to the man, take the $50 and think you tossed them a worthless bone. It's not about the gun and it never was, it was all about appearances and for every person who turns in a gun that only incentivizes them to try harder. They think if you turned in a gun there has to be a lot of other people if only they could reach those people. So they go back and talk about numbers and use that as the means to get more support and more money to do their deed.

Advertising is worth far more than it costs. People going to these guns buy backs are advertising. Learn how advertising and marketing works and you'll see exactly why and how they do what they do.

What if they had a goal of getting just 25 guns and your gun made it 25? Their next goal is 40 guns and yeah, there will be someone who is number 40. It continues and they use percentages internally to get more money and more support.

People shouldn't play their game. They aren't stupid, they are very smart and calculating. If no one ever showed up there wouldn't be gun buy backs.

Every person who shows up and turns in a gun and isn't a criminal is some law abiding gun owner. Think about that. Gun owners helping those who want to take away your guns and for $50 the anti-gun people find them. Talk about cheap. You proved exactly what they've been saying all along, people will give up their guns for cash.
